Gideon Hillman FCILT FCMI FIC has over 25 years Global Supply Chain, Logistics & Materials Handling industry experience, having been employed at a Senior Management Level throughout Europe with both manufacturers & Global 3rd Party Logistics Providers prior to establishing Gideon Hillman Consulting in 2004, which is now one of the leading Logistics and Supply Chain consultancies in the UK. 

His sector expertise throughout the UK and Europe includes FMCG, Retail, Food Production and Processing, e-commerce, Wholesale Networks, 3rd Party Logistics operations, Automotive Production Logistics, Utilities and Construction and General Manufacturing. 

Gideon is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport; a Fellow of The Chartered Management Institute, Fellow of The Institute of Consulting, an Affiliate Member of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) and a former Board Member of UKWA (United Kingdom Warehousing Association).

Phillip Beckham MILT has over 30 years’ experience in Logistics and Warehousing covering all aspects of Materials Management, Procurement, Warehouse and Inventory Management, UK & European Logistics, Supply Chain Optimisation and Quality Management, prior to joining Gideon Hillman Consulting as a Senior Consultant in 2007.

He has significant experience in Vendor Management, Vendor Support Operations, Inbound/outbound Logistics, Warehouse, Distribution and e-fulfilment Centre design to optimise pick rates and efficiency as well as 8 years Facilities and Engineering management experience. He is an expert in Warehouse and Distribution Centre facility layouts and optimisation (including resource planning) and WMS integration to optimise pick rates and efficiency and provides our clients with detailed layout designs and full racking and equipment requirement specifications utilising our in-house CAD design facilities, combined with his significant experience including the development of complete Standard Operating Procedures. 

Phillip is Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport and has worked on over 100 projects for a range of clients. He also has significant public secitor experience.

Kenneth Porter BSc MA MILT is a Strategic and Operational Supply Chain Consultant with over 25 years’ experience in developing and optimising logistics operations. He has extensive experience using advanced modelling techniques to develop logistics strategies and operational improvements and is effective at engaging with key stakeholders at all levels ensuring that he delivers real benefits to client organisations.

His key skills are Logistics Strategy Development and Operational Review, Analysis and Improvements, Supply Chain and Logistics Network Modelling and Strategic Design, Business Case Development, Stakeholder Engagement, Solution Implementation and Warehouse and Distribution Centre Optimisation including design, workflows, layouts, process, automation, control systems, and WMS specification and integration.

Kenneth is highly proficient in the development of spread sheet based simulation tools and decision support models (as well as being able to use industry standard tools such as DPS) , and regularly supports clients with warehouse planning and strategic transport network design.

His sector experience includes Retail, General Manufacturing, Wholesale, Third Party Logistics and Distribution, Automotive, Food Production, and Life Sciences having supported clients across the UK, Europe, USA, Asia and Australasia.

Kenneth is a Member of the Institute of Logistics with a BSc. (First Class) in Pure Mathematics & Theoretical Physics and a Masters in Operational Research. 

Ian Maughan MILT is an experienced Supply Chain / logistics professional with over 30 years of operations management and consulting experience predominantly in a 3PL retail distribution background across multiple customers and product types both within customer facing, warehousing and transportation functions.

He is well versed in strategic development and optimisation of warehouse operations with particular expertise in WMS, Stock Management, Labour Management and operational planning, possessing in depth knowledge of supply chain planning and design, including modelling and simulation methodology for the execution of optimisation strategies.
Having held multiple roles within 3PL operations management and supply chain systems consulting environment has allowed him to deliver operational and strategic development projects across many fields, including many close working partnerships and customers relationships.

His knowledge of all aspects of Distribution operations and IT systems allows Ian to deliver direct benefits through delivery of optimisation and development projects which add real value to the customer’s business.

Ian is a Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport.

Kenneth Paine BSc (Hons) is highly experienced in the strategic development of supply chains and the tactical design of logistics operations as well as distribution optimisation. Kenneth has a background in contract logistics design with several major 3PLs, and has over 16 years of experience specialising in simulation modelling, most especially transport resource analysis, transport modelling, strategic network design, detailed operational transport schedules, depot locations and boundary definitions as well as own vehicle fleet vs. contractor optimisation.

Kenneth is an expert in the use of transport planning software, which enables him to conduct highly detailed optimisation analysis in determining our clients transport fleet and infrastructure requirements. This includes both the size and type of resources required, and the optimal geographic positioning of the infrastructure such as warehouses and DCs.

Kenneth has a degree in Strategic Systems Management and is a native Spanish speaker having supported clients with projects in Spain, Mexico and Chile as well as the UK and other parts of Europe.

Rod Taylor has over 30 years’ experience in the retail distribution and warehousing industry, initially in administration and stock control and audit, before becoming a business analyst and then consultant. 

His focus for most his career has been process analysis, system design and data manipulation which has now extended to procurement, WMS, transport systems, retail systems, and some finance systems on a variety of projects from simple review and re-engineering to full system design. 

Rod has good communication skills and a highly visual way of looking at systems and processes, this combined with his training and documenting skills allows him to contribute to most situations.  

Natasha Raymond is responsible for the continuous promotion of the Gideon Hillman Consulting brand and services; she frequently updates the Gideon Hillman Consulting social media channels including Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+ and Pinterest. Natasha is responsible for writng unique copy for many relevant and prestigious Industry magazines and online sites, alongside guest-writing for a handful of Industry Blogs. Natasha also writes copy for and maintains, the news-pages and articles for the Gideon Hillman Consulting website and Blog, and attends key industry exhibitions when possible.

Sue Hillman MCIPD is responsible for the accounts and administration functions and the office support personnel within the company. Since joining Gideon Hillman Consulting in 2005 she has been instrumental in developing and implementing the CRM and project management systems as well as implementing the ISO 9001:2008 quality processes and ensuring that the company achieved it's ISO Quality accreditation in January 2009. Prior to 2005 Sue had spent many years in Senior HR roles within the Private and Public sectors (both permanent and contract) and previously a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development.

Rachael Holdright maintains and manages the administration functions within the company. Since joining Gideon Hillman Consulting in 2011 she has been fundamental in ensuring all office processes are followed. Rachael is responsible for the daily support of the office team and also offers daily support for our consultants, ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed, formatted, and processed correctly in a timely manner.
