Jestic Food Service - Case Study

GH Consulting complete Warehouse Operations Review

Warehouse Operations Review

Since opening for business in Tunbridge Wells in 2005, Jestic has been an integral part of the foodservice industry, working closely with clients, chefs and brands around the world to become renowned for providing catering equipment that does more than just cook.

Jestic Foodservice Equipment represent some of the world’s finest and most innovative foodservice equipment manufacturers, with particular emphasis on the design and supply of the latest in open kitchen and theatre-style cooking.

With over a decade of experience in the catering equipment market, customers can be assured that Jestic truly understands the requirements of the contemporary kitchen. Celebrating 10 years of dedication to the foodservice industry in 2015; Jestic acquired Hugall Services, further strengthening the capabilities of the Jestic service division.

Following concerns within the Jestic Food Service management team regarding supply chain processes supporting the business and in particular with the level and mix of parts inventory and the layout of their warehouse; Jestic asked Gideon Hillman Consulting, Specialist Logistics and Warehouse Consultants, to provide a proposal to review the current supply chain processes and to identify areas which require more detailed assessment.

Conducted in two phases, The Specialist Consultants at Gideon Hillman Consulting, firstly reviewed the Jestic Food Service current supply chain processes, followed by a detailed assessment of those processes.

The Specialist Warehouse, Logistics and Supply Chain Consultants, led the review and detailed assessments of processes, including but not limited to information about inventory levels, and warehouse operations.

Gideon Hillman Consulting answered all questions from the Jestic Food Service team promptly, and through their review and assessment, directed the Jestic Food Serive management team to better control their inventory levels and warehouse processes, whilst simultaneously considering cost effectiveness and providing Jestic with conclusions and recommendations for the next step of areas for improvement.
