Enveco Ltd - Customer Case Study

Gideon Hillman Consulting conduct Operational Review for Enveco

operational review of warehouse and distribution operations

Enveco is one of the most comprehensively equipped Envelope factories in the UK; a specialist envelope manufacturer that can match your precise requirements for greeting card envelopes and bespoke envelopes and meet your needs quickly and efficiently.

Serving the whole of the UK and Europe as a specialist manufacturer, their products include envelopes for greetings cards, bespoke printed envelopes, and personalised embossing services.

Operating out of a production site in Dewsbury, and a packaging site in Milton Keynes, alongside third-party operations in Gloucestershire, and receiving greetings cards from Woodmansterne Publications Ltd (the leading supplier of greeting cards to independent retailers in the UK) Enveco wanted to explore the possibility of a single site solution for their warehouse and logistics resources and infrastructure.

Enveco decided that to conduct this project, they required external expertise, and after a rigorous selection process, selected the Specialist Logistics and Supply Chain Consultants at Gideon Hillman Consulting (GH), due to their wealth of expertise and knowledge within the Logistics Industry, and successful execution of previous, similar projects.

operational review of warehouse and distribution operationsThe Gideon Hillman Consulting team proposed to make Enveco a more suitable fulfilment partner for Woodmansterne Publications Ltd, by creating a shorter and more efficient supply chain, suggesting several ways to consolidate their then current operations.

Under the scope of this project the GH team of specialist consultants were required to: identify space requirements for the single site collation/ wrapping, warehousing &fulfilment operation; identify the current and future state (single site) fulfilment operational costs; optimise the efficiency of the single site operation; and design the optimal single site layout and identify equipment and implementation costs.

Conducting a detailed review of Envenco’s operations, the Gideon Hillman Consulting team ensured Enveco’s operations were optimised for current and future Warehouse and fulfilment requirements, whilst simultaneously identifying beneficial supply chain savings.

Working to complete the operational review onsite with the combined Enveco and Woodmansterne teams, allowed to GH team to properly develop optimised layouts, workflows and operational procedures, for the proposed single site operation.
