BE Aerospace - Customer Case Study
- The BE Aerospace facility in Kilkeel, Northern Ireland, manufactures passenger aircraft seating and furniture for Tourist (main cabin), Business Class and First class cabins. The facility manufactures products for new build aircraft as well as for aircraft re-fits globally. In addition to the seat assembly, there is also a composite forming and finishing plant on site at Kilkeel supplying various cabin furniture composite mouldings to the assembly line with a variety of surface finishes, depending on customer specification.
- In February 2009 BE Aerospace instructed Materials Handling and Transit Packaging Specialists Gideon Hillman Consulting to carry out a review of their Materials Handling and Transit Packaging strategy with the key objectives of identifying areas for improvement to transit packaging of finished product to the Global customer base; as well as internal handling improvements for composite mouldings from the finishing plant to the set and cabin furniture assembly line.
