The ShelterBox charity currently despatches 20,000 Shelter Boxes (aid packages) per year to disaster zones across the world. Since the charity’s conception 10 years ago, growth has been exponential and the site layout has been struggling to meet demand. As the profile of the charity increases, they plan to extend their help to reach 50,000 families per year, with 50,000 Shelter Boxes. With such ambitious plans, the ShelterBox team urgently needed to optimise their facility layouts.

Gideon HillmanConsulting recently donated their professional support to help them optimise the facility and therefore maximise the throughput of aid to disaster zones whilst negating the need for capital investment within the warehousing operation…
