SEASONAL E-FULFILMENT SOLUTION FOR THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION

The Poppy Shop (the online shop for The Royal British Legion which is celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2011) made the decision to dramatically expand its range of products available on-line to approximatley 400 items.
The concern was that the existing in-house warehouse and fulfilment operation would not be able meet the increase in demand and throughput during the high demand season from July to October.
In May 2011 The Royal British Legion enlisted the help of Gideon Hillman Consulting to investigate the options and source the right solution to support this vitally important sector of their commercial operation.
After a complete review and analysis of the warehouse and fulfilment requirements it was agreed that an outsourced partner for high season, whilst utilising the existing internal fulfilment operation for low season, was the most suitable solution which could be implemented quickly and efficiently.
